Coffee anyone?

I'm getting tired of the same old columbian coffee we have here at the office. It's about as bland and predictable as a Paulie Shore/Eddie Murphy buddy comedy.

You guys have any favourite coffee blends? I'm going to try to con the boss into getting some Kenya AA or guatemalan beans...something that's a nice medium roast.

Any suggestions?

i dig Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. Medium bdy and flavor. I do enjoy a hearty Columbian though...

Miscguy 04-24-2003 07:49 AM

I can see it now... "We've secretly replaced this offices coffee, with new Folders, with flavor crystals premium coffee house supreme, coco, mocha, mix coffee."

heh heh

Man, if I came in here in the morning, poured up a cup of java, and it tasted like chocolate or hazelnuts, I'd set the building on fire. biggrin:

I'll try that ethiopian one, wf. Thanx.

I hate flavored coffees. It is an absolute abomination!!!!

Zoner 04-24-2003 08:03 AM

The only coffee flavouring I like is sugar...and 10% cream. That's IT.

/me high-fives wintersforge; spills coffee

/me curses Zone and asks him to gently dab a napkin on his crouch area oOo: eek: ed:

The best way to spice up columbian is to double the amount of grounds used. Then you can walk around all day looking like this ===> ed: We have the coffee service premeasured packs. 1 1/2 packs makes a pretty tasty cup of joe.

Any good dark roast is fine, flavored coffees are for women and children. Jamacian blue mountain coffee is excellent, but rather pricey. My parents like that coonass chickory coffee, but I cant stand it.

Zoner 04-24-2003 08:37 AM

Jamacian blue mountain! Yeah!

I forgot all about that stuff! I tasted that coffee about 3 years ago and remember it being VERY good. I'll pick some up for home, though. No way these office drones will be drinking my jamacian blue mountain! They'd drink Maxwell House filtered through a wool sock...coffee b00ns. oOo:

I heard the Indian beans are pretty good, but they can be $$$. I just run to Timmy's to get my coffee.

Go to Starbucks they have good coffee. I like it with vanila creme.

Yeah, I bring in a can of Timmy's every now and then, but it just isn't the same. I think they use something like 30% cream at the stores...no wonder the coffee tastes so damn good.

Starbucks? Nah, I really don't like their regular coffee much. If I'm feeling particularly feminine, I'll get some white chocolate/whipped cream/coffee-achino or whatever the frig they call those things.

First thing in the morning, though, it's gotta be coffee-flavoured coffee.

I'm on a recent kick of a nice, dark roast from a local grocery stored called Trader Joe's. Very roasty, and it's a real coffee...none of this maplenut crunch garbage.

funny story...Zone and I were hanging out at the bookstore where he worked back in the day, and I brought up how my mother returned from a cruise with a beautiful gift, 2 pounds of Jamaican Blue Mountain, which cost her all of $15...upon mentioning that fact, one of the store's regulars who answers only to the name of "Goo" whipped around and chimed up "2 pounds of Jamaican for $15?!?"..."No, Goo...COFFEE" I guess regular consumption of coffee would offset Goo's primary vice.

My point is, Jamaican Blue Mountain at a local $50 a pound is hardly worth it, but it's like a $106 Cohiba cigar from Cuba...you gotta try it. biggrin:

HAW HAW HAW! Man, I forgot all about Goo...whatta friggin' burnout that dude was.

heh...maplenut crunch. Denis Leary OWNZ!

He looked like one of the prison camp occupants in BoB, only wearing a plad shirt and carrying a backpack.

So, who prefers using a Bodum (french press) vs. a perculator?
