Alright, I admit it, I'm worried about the A.I. in this game, and am wondering if I should even get it.

Everyone who has played the demo, could you describe to me, in your own words, what you think of the A.I., what they do, how intelligent they are, how much harder they are on different difficulty settings, etc.

Thanks.

A.I is fine, needs some work, but its fine.

I think it is pretty good...the only complaint I have about the ai is that it seems to know where you are no matter what, but other than that, it is good. It will try to take cover aganst you and I have had times where it will try to circle back around on you or try to get away from grenades. This game will be worth getting. Also, check the online reviews people have referenced on other threads.

your teamates kinda wonder around infront of you, when they are being hit with rounds they just sit there and dont take cover, its like they wait 5 seconds and wait till the information is being processed to their brains that they are getting smoked by rounds. I think the enemy AI is really good though, some things are scripted but either than that very good.

Well the friendly AI (fellow squad members) act like they can't die.

First I'll start with the bad news.

They'll pick ridiculous places for cover, they'll shoot at an enemy even if you're between their gun and the enemy (meaning you'll get hit), they'll go out in the open and stand there and get shot over and over and over without firing back at their attacker (and they'll eventually die unless you take out the shooter), they'll walk in front of you while you're shooting an enemy as if you aren't even there, they have way too much health (I've seen em take like 20 shots before dying), and they never seem to want to use grenades (I guess 2015 had to manually script them to throw grenades in other missions, but we'll have to see).

The good news is that they are fairly accurate, 95% of the time they spot enemies, they scream out "Grenade!" and "Watch out!" when grenades and enemies are spotted, sometimes they'll sacrifice their lives by jumping on top of grenades thrown at you to protect the squad from the blast, they always follow you until they die, they limp when they are nearly dead, and they seem very believable and life like. To be quite honest with you, the friendly AI in this game is the most realistic AI I've ever seen in any game. It's impressive as hell.

On the end of the spectrum, the enemy AI has almost no bad qualities.

Bad news is: In various portions of the game, if you check a location where you killed 2 enemies, you'll see there is no one else there, but if you move up a little bit more in the map, all of a sudden 6 guys will come out from that same place you just checked, meaning the game spawns enemy AI in certain locations only when you've reached a certain perimeter on a map. It's not that bad, but if you look for it, it definitely happens.

The only other problem I would say there is with the enemy AI is that it seems like they can spot you no matter where you are, even if you are using very good cover behind bushes (this may be due to the fact that I only play on Hard difficulty).

Speaking of difficulty, on Easy difficulty MOST of the enemy AI's shots are off if you move around while they're shooting at you; on Medium difficulty the enemy AI's shots OFTEN miss if you move around while they're shoot at you; and in Hard difficulty, the enemy AI's shots JUST ABOUT ALWAYS hit you even if you move around while they're shooting at you. I guess this is the way it's supposed to be, though you would presume that different soldiers have different types of aim, but then again, this is only a game, so asking for that much from 2015 and AI accuracy would be overkill. Overall, it's laid out very well.

And just so you know, on Hard difficulty, shots take off around 20 - 25 health points, on Medium, shots take off about 10 - 12 health points, and on Easy it takes a long time to die.

At any rate, the good points for the enemy AI are too many too list: various death animations; alert each other about grenades and when they spot you; they go into prone and take cover; they stand behind walls and windows and peak out to see if you're there (and sometimes shoot at you with only part of their body exposed); they fall back and find other enemy AI to help them take you out; they group together; they will sometimes try to pick up your thrown grenades and throw them back at you if you throw the grenade too close to them, other times they'll run up with their hands over their heads when there's a grenade flying towards them (hysterical the first time you see it); and they'll wack you with their weapons if you stand right next to them while making vicious Nazi growls at you.

There's more good points about the enemy AI, but that's all I care to list here.

Bottom line about enemy AI is that it's top notch and the best enemy AI I've seen in a game.

If you can handle it (dying and reloading the map a lot), you should play on Hard because this is where the enemy AI really shines.

Only problem I have with playing on Hard is that I die way too often, meaning that I reload the map so much that I know where the AI will be and what to expect each time, and then when I get to an area I haven't been to, I'll die again, and the process will repeat itself.

I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard that the game randomizes enemy positions on the map (didn't see too much of this on the demo map), so that might be an incentive to replay every single map again and again.

Overall, the AI in this game definitely will impress you, but like all other games including Black & White, certain points of the AI are not that great. However, unlike most games of today, the good points of the AI out shine the bad points, so overall, MoH:AA's AI is incredible.

But hey, we've only reached the year 2002, and when we already have games that are including next generation AI like in Black & White and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, you know for sure that within the next 10 years the AI we will be seeing will be jaw dropping.

I have noticed that the enemy AI works great at times and others not at all....
for instance:
When the tiger tank destroys the wall...sometimes as few germans will rush you and take you out...and then if you are in a hopeless situation, and you fall back a few germans sometimes follow you and set up an ambush...
these are a few of the good things I have noticed.
Has anyone else noticed at times the germans AI and the airborne AI sometimes make IMPOSSIBLE shots??? I was approaching the church with a springfield sniper rifle and the two mg-42 guys opened up...I immediately took aim and capped the one on the right...I shifted my sights to the left guy and the Airborne guy nails him with ONE shot from the BAR....we were near the bushy wall when he made this shot.....and the germans have made completely impossible shots too...I think that this is real suspicious....it is like the AI has a "dice rolling" effect as to how good their aim is....good thing or bad thing???

I say i you compare whit hl those are great

Nah it's not a dice rolling effect, it's the tracking script that was setup for the AI. I guess they have to tweak it a little.

I like the AI, yet still:

Top 3 Bad Things about the MoH AI.

1) You can't give them any orders. ("Rush!" or "Stay back" would have been enough).
2) Too often they just stand in the middle of the field without taking cover (especially when they reload)
3) They smell.
