Weapons switching problem

I've been having a real problem while in either SP or MP my game will freeze for just a second then switch to a different weapon, half the time this happens while I'm in CBQ in MP. needless to say what the outcome is on that. This has been going on for several months now and I'm at wits end. I only have 4 programs running in the background norton,ZA,Explr,Systray, my machine can handle these just fine. 1.3Gig P4, 1 Gig RAM, Nvidia GEforce 2 64Meg ultra w/ updated drivers, I think this is sufficient.
Has anybody else encoutered this type of issue? Please help, I'm about to give my computer an attitude adjustment w/ a baseball bat. :( mad:

what are you rencountering this with? AA or SH? If its Sh, thats your computer telling you to "get this POS of me!"

This'll happen in both AA & SH in SP & MP modes
Been thru the whole gammet of diagnostics and the sort.
Also running DX8.1 but all indications say system OK.
There is one thing I havent tried and thats to decrease the acceleration.
I'll give it a go tomorrow, will let you know what happens. Might be of some help w/ others having same problem if this works.

Mine used to periodically change weapons all the time, but it never locked up briefly before this happened. Since I went from a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 to a Logitech 500 it stopped happening.

Your using the same mouse that I was when this was happening. I bet that is your problem. Although I'm sure a lot of people use this mouse and don't have this problem so who knows. Like I said, as soon as I switched mice it stopped.

It just goes to show, its always the simpelist things.
Turns out to be a VERY small crush in the cable back towards to plug-in to the computer, I check for that before but didnt see it until this morning.
Cant beleive I've been going thru this headache for so long w/ the freezes & erractic cursors.
I switched to a optical wireless for now, & all is working fine, not the greatest for gaming IMO but I'll look into that Logitech 500 you wrote about OZZY.
Thanx all for your help.

I feel like a F&*$ing idiot
