Are you talking about his extensive knowledge of the English language, demonstrated in the post above? biggrin:

Ok, i've been out of the Techno loop for years so these may be obsolete to you guys but here goes.

LA Style - James Brown is dead
The Movement - Jump
Apotheosis - O Fortuna
R.T.Z. Belgium - Dance your ass off

Like i said, these songs are from the early 90's and it's all the techno i know.

EasyTrick2.0 04-29-2003 09:36 PM

I always liked the songs by Underworld and there are some good ones by Prodigy. The new Matrix I am sure will have some kick ass songs too. Some of the songs from Chemical Bros are good. Not sure if any of this is your kind of music, but I like the rock and techno kind of songs. Not just the trande or dance, reminds me too much of disco.

Wow, you guys are total n00bs.

First of all, it isn't techno, it is fucking DANCE. Techno is a very specific sub-genre of dance. Most of you would be too trapped in the mainstream mold to be able to appreciate REAL techno.

As for good DANCE music, I would suggest S.L.A.M. as a good introduction to the largest and most popular genre of music in the world. It's minimalist, not too crazy, and really good to listen to while you're hanging out with friends. Get either "Alien Radio" or "Fabric 9" by them. The former is a long set made more for release on CD, although it had a couple of records ripped from the set. The latter was a set they played in the UK club, "Fabric"

If that doesn't float your boat (i hate mainstream radio whores) then you should try Paul Oakenfield. Again, his music is more accessible to people used to pop culture than a lot of other really good music that people spit on (eminem is a cocksucker) because it has no lyrics and they're too fucking stupid to try and understand what's being said in a song with no words.

If that doesn't work, you could always try Progressive House.. often referred to as the "bridge" to the Dance genre. Very pop-ish music.. often here trip-hop influences in the beats.

If you still can't find anything you like, you are truly an American. More than 75% of the American population dislikes the dance genre of music. Embarassing considering that dance is the most popular genre of music in the world by a very, very, very long shot. Ignorance abounds here.

dont type in that small font, my eyes already hurt from looking at the screen hake:

Arkan 04-29-2003 10:18 PM

Noctis....what the hell are you trying to say here? You lost me.
Are you saying the songs that were posted are not Techno?
The songs i posted were from a store bought CD labled "Techno".
The comment about "Americans" could've been omitted from your post....that really wasn't necessary in this topic.

As for genre of music, times dictate what we listen to and also what we label them. I'm a fan of Freestyle but not the Freestyle you're accustomed to. Freestyle from the 80's vs today is totally different. One is dance and the other more rap orientated. Same applies for Techno. Techno changed so much during the past 10 years that i have a hard time distinguishing what is what. The older Techno is more "industrial" than today's Techno.

Dance, Techno, whatever the fuck it's called is crap, simple as that. No talent, no structure, just the same bullshit repeating over and over and over and over and over. Thats my opinion ofcourse.

C'mon Nick, I thought you were higher than that. Not everybody likes the same type of music.
