i kinda like the scene in Platoon when they were doin there stake out and that one dude fell asleep on his shift while the vietnamese people snuck up on them during the night for a ambush.

I personally liked the last battle scene in SPR in that war-torn French town. So much suspense builds up as they are sitting around listening to music, while the sound of squeeky tanks heading their direction shakes the city. that sounded so awesome in the movie theater!

The scene in Stalingrad where the Germans are assaulting the Russian front line, in the streets. Awesome stuff.

Id have to agree with Bluedevil. SPR is one of the only movies that made me shake.. I mean... I was sooo tensed up watching it. It was accurate and realistic. One of the best War movies of all of time.

I'm asking you. Please briefly explain it for everyone...

Mine would be in the Thin Red Line, when the soldiers are walking through the fog and bullets are whizzing past them, then all these Japanese soldiers charge through the fog, Lots of stabbing and chaos occurs. Hans Zimmers music really sets the scene...

And on a minor note I'm announcing that tommorows Fact of the Day will be my last, for the rest of my life...Unless I feel like writing another one! http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/frown.gif

Without a doubt, SPR and the two climactic scenes of A: the landing and B: the town as the Tiger tank and company of Germans moved in. Great buildup!
I've never walked out of a theater so affected by a movie as SPR. Same goes for my wife... She doesn't like violence in movies but she said she didn't mind watching the SPR blood and gore because it was so realistic.

Well .. shouldnt Puff mid his business?

If J.Patterson wanted to state his opinion about his fav. battle scene , REGARDLESS if it was a vietnam movie or not... he should have the freedom of speech too ..

It was uncalled for what Puff said ... Thats my opinion...

i'd hafta say the best WWII battle scene would be the bridge scene @ Ramelle in SPR. its one of the first WW2 movies to use real German tanks since Kelly's Heros. Where Spielberg found those Panzers is beyond me but it really helps add to the realism rather than seeing an Old Sherman with Iron Crosses painted on it shooting at Allies. Thats the type of battle i'm looking forward to in Allied Assault (with Tigers and Halftracks coming in from all sides with nothing more than like 2 dozen guys to fend it off) Its really a tribute to the soldiers and shows us who weren't there exactly what type of horrors those soldiers faced. Everything in that movie is true to what really happened in those fights. Read Stephen Ambrose's D-Day which is almost entirly soldier's first person account's of what happened. Its almost like you can see SPR being born directly out of those soldier's mouths. Really you all should read that book, I have gained so much more new respect for our veteran's after reading that book. It's great that they are buildign a memorial to honor our veterans with as well in Washington, God know's they have earned it. Sorry I'm going on and on so i'll let all of you go.
Never forget what our soldiers fought for.
