Attacking or defending?

Would you guys rather be the attacking force or defend the OBJ? keep in mind defending means going out and hunting the attackers... not camping by the bomb!

In a real war, it doesn't take as many bullets to die either. This is a game, not real war, remember that

Ok bud... was i whining? NO! Like fallout said it's a GAME! Rushing and hunting is more exciting than walking into a bunch of people sitting there waiting. So take it easy big fella and relax.

Either or. I don't like how about 80% of OBJ are Axis-defense, but I guess since we invaded Germany & Europe, most maps are based on the Allies leading the attack.

Dragonwraith 05-11-2003 08:34 PM

That's why i love the custom OBJ's that have the AXIS attacking... and suggestions?

I like attacking on the big user-made maps like Prado, nothing like tricking the enemy and getting setting the bomb when they're half a map away biggrin:

the stock maps are IMO way too small and constricted, basically the only way to get objective is to charge into enemy defense and out shoot and out shuffle the enemy.

Either or. Players who limit themselves to only one team or to only defending or attacking miss out on half of the game.

I enjoy the buzz of attacking a defending team much more than having the attacking team down my throat before I've managed to go 5 paces, though.

As a defender, however (and quite contradictorary to my last statement) I much prefer to advance and fight on the front line. I love taking out someone then retreating to the next door, step by step until I am in a defensive position.

I am not overly fond of sitting still and waiting for the enemy to arrive, unless it's situational. That is, I won't ever camp but if I know you're close by I'll certainly consider waiting for you very quietly. biggrin:

The best camper is one who can retreat at every step and allow the attacker to make the next move on your own terms.

If both teams just charge then you honestly may as well just play DM or TDM, as the objective rarely gets touched in these fights. Only when someone retreats or defends will the objective ever get used.

Unless you're playing a huge open map that has no choke points whatsoever and both forces completely miss eachother biggrin:

Get St. Renan. Awesome smallish map, but very fun to play on both sides. Axis have to blow a bridge and the allies have to defend it (duh).

Ydiss's Crossfire Retaliation is an Allies defense of a tank too...another winner.

If my duty is to protect the OBJ then I will most likely defend. This is how I think of it. If everyone is attacking and not defending the OBJ, who will be there to disarm the bomb when the other teams gets to it?
