If you ever get a chance to look into a bunker with a machine gun nest you will notice that noone is behind the gun. The nazi is standing next to the gun with his hands out in the middle of the air, yet somehow he is still firing the weapon.

note: you will only see this in bunkers. regular gun emplacements have the guy behind the gun...
