Why is this happening? I have a great rig :(
 

Ok. last night i finally decided to dl and install direct x 9a. so i did so. then i dl and installed the new nvidia drivers, which are certified on their site and should cause no problems. since i did this, whenever i try to play a bf 1942 online game, i either
A.) get in the game, and play for 2 mins until it freezes and says "disconected" or

B.) the map loads about half way and then it says "corrupt data" and kicks me to my desktop (they are stock maps...)

medal of honor mp seems to work fine....no problems there. however, i decided to try the sp first mission just to see how my fps would do now that i have my gf 4 ti 4600...and i was appauled to see that i got under 20 fps throughout the whole mission...from the paradrop to inside the barn....17 fps wtf is going on? i feel like taking a sledgehammer to this thing...it doesnt matter what upgrade i do cry:

could this be why? i have a ddr gf4 ....but i have rd ram. still though, i cant see why this would bog down my rig so much. maybe its my dell oem motherboard hake: i still dont know what kind of mobo i have in my dimension 8100 ...on the parts list it just says motherboard oOo:

i was refering to the directx9. it messed up my computer badly. in moh:aa

it would read soemthing like the intel proccessor was -1800ghz which is below the requirements so the game crashes, and many of my other games got slower.

agreed, i just installed dx9 to comply with requirements for rise of nations demo and I have been playing blitzkrieg only to find in some mulitplayers it says i have corrupt data and disconnects me

Wait, wait wait. there's no need to go back. Dx9.0a was pretty unreliable when it comes to gaming applications. 9.1 is much better, from my experience.

Also, Sloi is right. Just think about it a bit. You have a OEM straight RAM Motherboard, and you're using a DDR vid card. The piplines are configured completely different. As all of that vid info travels through the channels to the vid card, it's running on straight RAM. When it hits your DDR vid card, a serious bottleneck occurs. It's no wonder your FPS drops like a stone.

Hopefully your Dell case is an ATX form-factor. If so, go out and buy a new DDR configured MoBo, take it and your comp to a good shop, and have em change your shit.

That's not entirely true. It would take some effort, but it is possible.

Hmm, that thing with the RAM, that could be my problem. My Video card uses DDR ram, and I have PC133 ram, could that be a problem? Because the U2 engine runs like ass on my comp.
