Road map to peace in the Middle East - will it work? REVISED
 

Will the Israelis get ticked off and start bulldozing houses again? Or will those crazy Palestinians go on more suicide bombings just to derail the peace process? Or will it actually work? What do you think?

How come there is no choice for all 3 will screw it up?

Well, I have yet to hear what the "roadmap" is exactly.

All I hear on the news and such is "Pres Bush is trying to implement his roadmap" and "Another suicide bomber made tensions rise as the roadmap is trying to be implemented".

So until someone tells me what the plan is exactly, either by Mr. Bush or the media, I doubt I can formulate an educated position.

look it up, i read it in the newspaper. iirc, israel stops the settlements, etc.. palestinians stop bombing, palestinians get their own state in 2005.

Well, I don't think any of those things are new. The US has been saying this for years.

All that has changed is the new Palestinian leader and the threat the the US isn't afraid to kick someones ass even when its not a popular idea.

I think the plan CAN work, but it will be very difficult to pull off. It will take compromises from both sides - compromises I'm not sure both sides will be able to take. All it takes is a couple of renegade suicide bombers to piss off the Israelis, and the entire peace process would have to start over again.
