I feel that warez is a horrible thing to an extent. I am a sparatic user of warez and it has helped me in major PURCHASES. I am the kind of guy who tries the game out, like Max Payne, and see if I want to buy it. If I play it, and hate it, I delete it and never speak of it. If I like it, then I go out and buy the game. If I was to download MOH:AA from a warez site or some kind of pirated copy, and it was good, I would most definately buy it. Why? Because I believe people need to be rewarded. The workers at 2015 need to be rewarded for their months of labor and buying the game is my way of showing it. Now I know what you are going to say, don't post warez opinions or it is your first post what do you know, but I feel warez in the right hands is a good thing. But in the wrong hands it is just being selfish.

Well, I just buy all my games from Electronics Boutique. They have a 10 day return policy, no questions. You bring it back within 10 days, you can get a full refund. Plus I would NeVER trust a cracked program. Who knows what the person who cracked it could have hidden in it (like, oh, say a virus maybe).

virus scan?

I've never used any warez software, so I can't comment on that, but I've used your method for many movies that I've bought recently. Watch it online, see what it's like, then buy it. The quality of warez movies is usually so bad anyway that if you really want to see what the special effects are like you need to buy it anyway. I've also used warez versions of movies I already own (Star Wars trilogy for example) so I have something to watch on my pc when I'm writing a paper for example.

So anyway, I think warez is a bad idea for software but a tolerable idea for movies/music.

Electronic Boutique is not in my area but their policy is very favorable to the gamer who wants their games to be worth the cash they saved up. Thanks for the constructive comments.

There are warez people who do have ethics. If they like a game, they will buy it.. Software makers DO deserve to be supported. My thoughts.

One example of a downloaded thing was the Tenacious D album. I am a huge fan of the D and I knew I would buy the album but a sneak peak was all I needed. Could not wait another week. This goes the same for MOH:AA, but this time I think I will wait. Need to study for Exams, which suck.

Just because you have a virus scanner doesn't mean the company (ex. Nortan) knows about the virus. Happened to me. Nortan didn't know about the virus I got and unfortunately, it was a major one, ate away my DOS. had to get that fixed which costs big money. I got it through Morpheus. Just not worth it to me.

Why would it cost big money? Worse case scenerio: Format and re-install.

Nowadays demos don't always come out before the game does. Many developers release demos months after the game is out.

Why should I spend my money on a game I can't even test(demo)?

You should support the developers, though.

ZMan 01-15-2002 11:33 AM

You should spend money on it because you want it. Part of life is spending money on things. And I didn't get the virus on a game download, it was on a video of one of those faces of death things.
