Chassis fan running slow
 

OK, with my ASUS board I received this utility called ASUS Probe which monitors your system. Pretty handy. One thing is driving me nuts. It keeps telling me "Chassis fan below threshold". Both fans are turning and blowing air fine. Anyone else with an ASUS board get this? How do you correct it? Thanks in advance.

thats because it doesn't actually have a monitor on the chassis fan

and on my board, the power fan doesn't have a monitor on it too

i have an ASUS A7V8X

it's nothing to worry about, just pause the monitoring for that fan

If you do have the fan hooked up to the mobo monitor, you can always change your thresholds too. I have the same board as con brio and it uses the same software.

What motherboard did you buy?

Is the mobo monitoring any activity from you chassis fan?

If not, go back to the manual and make sure you have the sensors connected properly. If you fan doesnt have a sensonr, disable the monitor for it in asus probe.

If you are getting speed readings, but they are too low, either adjust your fan speed up, or lower the alarm threshold on the monitoring software. I would lower the threshold if you have enough cooling, for noise purposes.

Thanks. It doesn't have a senso, so I disabled the reading in the ASUS utility. Athlon XP 2600+ processor reads at about 100 degrees Fahrenheit, which is good.

Go into the BIOS and set the chassis fan alarm to "Ignore". It was doing this for my CPU, saying it was running at 169 degrees.
