Windows CD problem.

Hey, guys, Maybe you people can help me with a small but annoying problem I'm getting.
You see somehow autorun for my CDs isn't working.

I pop in the CD and nothing happens now, I tried going to my cd driver's properties there's no mention of Autorun there.

Is there anyway way to enable this feature? Because obviously somehow it got disabled. :/

Btw I'm running WinXP Home Edition.

Hm...i remember seeing it somewheree. But is it really an inconvience to open up My Computer, and click on the CD drive?

Satyricon 06-29-2003 02:30 PM

Hm, yeah. That's what I've been doing so far. But, you know I really love auto run..:/

Go to:

My Computer/

right click CD Drive (whatever you have it labled as)/

right click Properties/

Autoplay tab/

Select Action to Preform

I do that, since there's only file types for music, pictures, etc. I picked the one called mixed contents...there is no software option or anything. And it's still no go.

You have to change a setting in your registry to turn it on.

Bazooka_Joe 06-30-2003 11:31 AM

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer

the key CDRautorun should be set to 0, and the key NoDriveTypeAutoRun should be set to 95.

If neither are there, create them and enter those values.

Sorry to rehash an old thread, but I found and answer to your problem.
Run the Auto Play Repair Tool (Line 234)
