Best graphics ive seen hands down on a video game. Doom 3 is up there but this looks better because Doom 3 is very dark, you can see the objects as clearly.

Half-Life didn't have a demo and look how well that did.

There's no need for a playable demo, really. They have no need to hook people in and waste time on the demo when millions will already be salivating over the release, anyway.

Most dev companies release demos to A) build interest and b) get feed-back pre-release.

Valve need neither. You know this game is going to be amazing. Even if there are a few compatibility issues and bugs to start Valve will release patches frequently to address these and any other in-game issues that arrise.

Whilst it would be nice to be able to try the game out before it is released I won't be losing any sleep over it. I'd rather they put all of their resources into getting the game out in full as quickly as possible.

I'll be pre-ordering the game as soon as I can. As far as I am concerned Valve have a life-long customer right here, so long as they keep doing the business.

demo comes out 6 months after release.
