that sounds about right

CeleduX 07-21-2003 09:43 PM

Yup. One of the best movies I have ever seen.

Captain Bunny 07-21-2003 10:07 PM

Ah this old chest nut.

You either say "what the fuck?!" "That was the best war film ever" or "That was awsome but not as a good as platoon"

Mine is the latter.

Pyro 07-21-2003 10:59 PM

ya Platoon is better

Sergeant_Scrotum 07-21-2003 11:04 PM

why cant more people just make a semi normal war movies? so many are real fucked up.

Sergeant_Scrotum 07-21-2003 11:05 PM

BTW one question. how the hell did they get mail out in the middle of nowhere?

Machette 07-21-2003 11:25 PM

the guy was waiting for him, he knew that there patrol boat was heading around that area so they got the mail

11 Bravo 07-22-2003 12:32 AM

yeah, that movie was fucking nuts. I agree with you about the battle scene though. that had to be my favorite part when the Hueys came in low over the water.

Airborne Butters 07-22-2003 01:36 AM

I didn't care much for when they found Kurtz and all the talking. By then I was so hyped up on the action I wanted more like a crazed crack addict.

and by this are you implying that war is "normal"? cant you realize that they are for this very reason , being "fucked up" , too try and convey to the viewer that war is fucked up? in the thin red line that dude collected teeth out of the dead jap bodies. its there for a reason guy, just dont fast foward the "boring" f' ed up parts anymore. end of rant.

p.s. semi normal lol i cant get over it. hake:

Saw nothing fucked up about that movie. "charlie don't surf"

JBird 07-22-2003 06:44 AM

robert duvall was brilliant in this film, he should have recieved an oscar for that performance. my favorite line is when after that gook bitch throws the grenade into the chopper and blows it up....duvall orders an attack chopper to nail her, when he does he says "nice shot man, ill get you a case of beer for that one ...." lmao biggrin:

by normal i mean like bob or spr. in this movie though its all about how fucked up everyones minds are. it was just too far beyond for me in the last hour. & finding the playmates at the run down base & how they were just compleatly crazy. made no fucking sence to me at all.
