When Im installing BF right when it gets to 56% a little pop up comes up and says " Specified Componet cannot be found in media. An attemp was made to access a componet that does not exist in the named media" Then I click OK and it closes the installation. Can anyone help me? i would assume that your CD is scratched and it cannot read teh information on it, same thing happened with my mohaa CD2 so i didnt have it for a while, tehn i borrowed a frends CD2, ripped it to an iso then re burnt it and its like new biggrin:
|
i also believe this should be in the " Tech Questions & Problems " forum
|
something like that happens with my Diablo 2 play disc, and my starcraft disc as well....damn it...there really is no way to fix it, get a new cd..
|
Just get another CD the "clever" way. As long as you have a valid cdkey it shouldn't matter how u go about replacing your scratched CD. I bought BF, lost the cd in a matter of weeks, and have the CDkey copied to an email account. Bam. No longer need to worry about losing the cd again.

What if I buy and use that CD Doctor thing...you know what Im talking about?
And I have no Idea what ED is talking about cry: |
that thing works actually, i used that on my Tekken Tag cd which didnt work for about a year, after i cleaned it with that thing, it worked. amazing.

i think bazooka joe posted a long time ago to use car wax and it will fill in the scratches ... ive tried it once and it works ...
