 Swapping to ATI from nvidia

A friends 9800pro is not running up to specs. I have heard nvidias drivers will make an ATI underperform until you can get them off. I know the simple solution is to get rid of the nvidia drivers, but i hear its not as easy as it sounds. mad:
Anyone here had this problem? How'd you fix it? |

disk cleanup, find the nvidia drivers and remove them.
	its that easy |

Usually i just do a total format to ensure ive got rid of all the previous shit from a gfx card.

I am thinking nvidia does this shit on purpose to try and get new ati owners pissed at ati. mad: |

I'm not sure if any of those NVidia drivers are on my PC from my GeForce 3, but I'll try that when I get a chance.
