GeForxe FX 5200 - 256 MB DDR Card

Hey all,

I recently built a brand new system and im not having any problems at all except for when i play MOHAA. The video card is barely rendering any fog... and where it does render fog, it is not consitant. Kind of patchy if you know what I mean. Heres what i've done thus far... The card also renders the parameters of each map... (each map is within a form... typically a cube. It renders all the vertices of each form)

Updated Bios
Patched Mohaa
Updated Card Drivers
Experimented with all the MOHAA video settings
Experimented with all the advanced NVIDIA Settings
Verified Bios settings are correct

Heres the essential PC Spec...

AMD 2400+ XP Processor
8x AGP 256 MB ddr 5200fx Nvidia GeForce Video Card
2x 512MB 2700 333mhz DDR RAM
Artec 52x24x52 CD-R/W
XFX Force K400 ANB Motherboard
Windows XP Professional...

The card runs using Direct X 9.1

Ill post a screenshot in a minute or two at this url of what I see....

Hopefully someone has come across this problem already and knows how to fix it.

Thanks in Advance....

Oh, and the frame rate is really low on MOHAA too... My old GeForce 3... 64 MB card performed with a higher fps

I had the same problem, however Spearhead caused my problem. As soon as i deleted Spearhead all the lines went away.

Type in the console com_maxfps 0 to remove the fps cap built in to the game.

Ya, i did that... its still hovering anywhere between 50 and 70

I had the same problem. Your problem is the vid driver. I assume you are running the Nvidia 45.23 driver. This driver has issues with MOHAA. Uninstall it and go with the 44.03 driver. Here is the link:

Thanks, ill give that a shot! Your help is greatly appreciated. Also, a discovery i made is... if you turn your apature down in you BIOS settings to 32MB you get a higher frame rate. Im on an average of 190 fps with everything cranked...

Ok,

I've rolled back the drivers, and im still getting a "no fog effect"

However, I have resolved the frame rate issue and gotten rid of vertices of the maps...

Anyone else have anymore suggestions about how to get this card to start rendering fog?

Apparently the drivers for this card have a problem with all q3 engine games.

One thing I noticed in your screenshot was that you do not have a PAK6 pk3 file, no idea if that is part of the problem? just something I noticed
