Passwording a Mohaa Server?
 

Ok this is going to get some of you annoyed because it must have been asked a thousand times before but how do you put a password on a server so it stops unwanted people entering? Also how do authorised people enter the server? I don't mean an rcon password I mean when you try entering a server and it says "invalid password"

to password:
rcon XXX set sv_privateclients 24 (the number is for how many players you want it)

to unpassword:
rcon XXX set sv_privateclients 0

You might want to download the RUNNER program, for your game, over at mohadmin.com. It's an easy to use, menu driven program for configuring your server. You would just set the number of private slots on the server and your client would need a password to join.

How does the client enter the password when wanting to join the server?

Start game, open console, type "password AaBbCcDd" and press Enter. You can also use your icon to set the password

You can have your clan members modify thier desktop icons to join your game. Right click on the icon and click on Properties. Make the target line read "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\moh_spearhead.exe" +set cl_playintro 0 +password AaBbCcDd +connect nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:12203(this one is for Spearhead, Allied Assaiul is basicly the same). This launches the game without the intro, sets the password, and connects to the IP address

I tried using seta 'sv_privatePassword "" ' but it doesn't seem to work, it still lets anyone connect. Note yes I did enter a password between the speech marks :P

What did you set your Private Clients to? If Max Clients is set to 8 and Private Client is set to 4 then 4 peop;e without passwords can join your game. If your server was full, and a client with a password tried to join, he would bump a client without a password.

Here is how to exactly password a server (xxxx is the password):

rcon password xxxx

then press enter and type this:

rcon set sv_privatepassword xxxx

Ever since i have been running my server (1 year) those are the 2 commands i do to password it. After it is passworded, type:

rcon restart

then the password will take effect.

For someone to connect to the server type:

password xxxx

After they have typed password xxxx press enter and type:

reconnect

Then press enter and you will connect to the server.

This will work, so have fun.
