My friend has just been mobilised
 

She recieved her call up papers to go to Iraq. She's also recieved body armour and I.D. etc. She only finished basic navy training a month ago!!!

And what's far more scary than all of this is that I could be called up too ed:

I know this is what I get for being a reservist and I wouldn't say no given the choice, but it all seems a little fast as we only became active one month ago.

Dont worry - statistics of you dying arent very high. But. . .I'm sore thats what the other Privates said. hake:

Reservists in Canada such as myself volunteer for NATO/UN missions and cannot be activated to go overseas unless the government goes to parliment and changes legislation. All in all I won't be going anywhere unless I volunteer. Which I will within the next few years. I'm sure I'll be going to Afghanistan after these current 2 rotos are done. Our last roto to Bosnia is there right now, so the next step is Afghanistan. Right now its all Royal Canadian Regiment over there which are Reg force, but after that it should be 50% Res, 50% reg.

I was just in Wainrwright Alberta last month and there were a bunch of Brits training there to go to Iraq in May. Some of you guys were midgits, I swear.

Yeah, i'm only 5"7', but I mean there were some guys walking around at like 5" even. biggrin:

I'm 6'1 and im only 15, my cousin is 6'9 and hes 20.
