Capturing images off dvd

I have powerDVD

it only saves them as .bmp

should i turn anti aliesing on? put my graphics and shit to the max?

bmp is fine for capturing images. The file will be rather large, but you can then convert them to a better format via one of the paint programs or viewers

The reason most programs use BMP is because it's free or cost less $$ then gif or jpg licensing. They can give you a SS utility without having to charge you more.

I beleive you need to turn video acceleration off to capture stills via your software. All my DVD rips I use to post here for sigs, where BMP images I converted to jpgs

yea cause when i take pictures they look back distorded....how do i turn video accel off?

if you are capturing a ss then it's off.

What it sounds like your seeing is the interlace of the video. sometimes you have to move one fame forward or back to get a "clear" frame. Don't try and capture on the fly. pause the video first then take your SS.

good luck
