NO auto-chamber for KAR?
 
Hey guys...i have been playin around with this realism MOD i made, and i can get everything to work just as i want it to, EXCEPT for the axis rifle, KAR. I have commented out the section of the KAR TIK file (inside the pk3 file) where the "bolt action" coding is....Now, im not sure why, but all that happens is that is doesnt play the sound for the chamber bolt action anymore, but it still re-chambers another bullet. BASICALLY, all i want it it to perform like the M-1 does.......ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO DO THIS ????? i know someone out there does! Thanks.

it has to do with animations for the model, your tik wont fix that
sounds like a cool idea tho, it would be aweome if you could get someone to model a K43 from DoD and make it an automatic to balance out the M1

OK, well im not exactly up to par on editing skins or .scr or .skc files or movies, so i might just hafta leave this one alone, unfortunetly. But just in case it can be done....do you know what file it can be edited it? Would it be an animation or straight coding? Cause if its coding....im there biggrin: Thanks for the reply.

FYI The Germans had a semi rifle,the G43. It was adopted around the Bulge.
It had a exposed box Mag. The only weapon that has ever been used in a
game that was even close in looks was the M14 in Vietcong. I don't remember if the Russians had a semi in Spearhead. That rifle could
also be used. It also used an exposed box mag, but was a bit longer.

If i do end up editing the animation for that, what programs do i have to use to accomplish this? I mean, u cant exactly edit a .SCR or a .SKC file with notepad! lol. And is there code that i would have to fix as well? Thanks for all of the replies.

Hey DJHEADUP....i did it and it works! (actually someone else helped me as well) but i still have one problem....the MOD works perfectly, BUT i use pakscape and i cant rename the realism MOD. Is there something i hafta do to make the renaming of the realism mod work? Like, compile it? (i know thats not it, but something like that.) To my knowledge, it should work, but it doesnt. WHEN I CAN RENAME THE FILE, I WILL POST IT. please help. Thanks.

add some z's to the beginning of the pk3's name. the pak system picks up components in alphabetical order. Hence why "user-" is so commonly used at the beginning of the name. "u" comes after "p" in the alphabet. anything with a "z" at the beginning of the name will come near the end, just remember, the more z's you use the farther back it will be in the games pick up.

example:

this is how the game would pick up 5 pk3's in alphabetical order.

pak0.pk3
pak1.pk3
user-My-Scopes.pk3
zzz-My-Skin.pk3
zzzzz-My-New-gun.pk3

hope that helps with the name. Now if you want to edit animations I recommend lightray3d. It costs a few bucks to register it, but its well worth the price for all the program can do.

Maybe that explains why it wasnt workin right....my pk3 started with "A"....lol. Thanks for the help. I will try that.

Thanks for all the help guys....now i have finally completed my Realism. I think it is the best around. Here are the changes:

1 All guns have a faster fire rate
2 All guns are equalized on both teams for fairness
3 All guns have scopes with custom zoom levels (except pistols and rockets)
4 NO ROCKET AMMO
5 Bigger clip sizes and a bit more ammo
6 Custom power level for each gun type (how much power it takes away per bullet)
7 Faster than original running speeds with gun UN-holstered
8 No auto chamber for the KAR
9 Custom Accuracy levels for all guns
10 Granades reach 3x as far (explosion, not throwing distance)

All this makes the best damn realism out there!!! (in my opinion biggrin: )
