A few random questions
1. Anyone know where I can get the older Miles sound files for MOH? I would like to try the 3D audio but the new demo files they have don't work, so I need the older ones.
2. How can I enable volumetric smoke through the console? For some reason, all my settings don't save, so I have to manually set them through my autoexec.cfg (i do mean EVERYTHING). 3. Where can I get a mod to open up all SP campaign missions? I just deleted all my AA and SH files and really don't feel like playing through all that again just to get to play a mission or two to test out my system. 4. I was able to boost my fps from around 62.5 to around 106.7 by changing the com_maxfps to 999 but it still won't go any higher. Are there any other settings to increase it any further without turning down any of the effects? Its like there's a setting that won't let it go anymore. |
complex questions there...
il think about it and give ya an answer |
Find anything out yet?

If you really want high frame rates, turn down the quality of your graphics card. but i dont know why you would want to do that.
|
1. No idea.
2. If your settings don't save you may not have Admin status on the PC. 3. Open up the console and type maplist. 4. Maybe that's the fastest your hardware will run the game. |
they basically said it for me, sry i forgot about posting sooner

3. That will play the level in SP?? 4. Seriously doubt it. If that were the case, it would bounce around alot with an average of 106.7. It wouldn't be locked on that specific number. There's no doubt something in MOH is holding my system back. [quote="Old Reliable":f045b]why is mohaa in miles 2d sound? this is 2003[/quote:f045b]That's why I want to get the older Miles files; it will let me have EAX in the game. |
2. Did the file where the settings are stored get set to Read Only for some reason?
3. [url:3cd14]http://www.alliedassault.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=169725[/url:3cd14] 3. The game requires more than just a badass video card. All the components - processor, RAM, motherboard - play a role. Maybe the rest of your components aren't on par with the video card. If that's the case you won't be able to utilize all the cards power. Are you trying to set a fps record or something? Just curious to see how fast it can run? I'd give my left nut for 106 fps... |

3. Sweet! Was hoping for a d/l but this'll work just fine. Thanx! 4. Well I have 512mb PC800 ram, 2ghz P4, FX 5900 Ultra, and SBLive! It should be good but I've never seen a game get stuck at a set fps unless a specific FPS (ie - halo) was set. It would fluctuate. Even if I look at the ground with nothing around, it would stay at 106.7. If it got bogged down, it would slow down to 30fps max but it would never go above 106.7. That's why I'm thinking its capped for some reason. I figure if I have the hardware to view it, why shouldn't I be able to? |
I dunno, but im not so sure that the FPS rates are true on the new Nvidia and ATI Cards to begin with. I have both the ATI 9800 pro and the FX 5900 Ultra (in 2 different systems) and they both produce equal frame rates in the range of 30 - 600. Its ridiculous. I can tell you this... when the FPS hits 30, it does not feel like 30. I've played mohaa on some PC's with onboard video that produce 30 FPS, and there is a major difference between the two.
The second reason i dont think its true is based on the FPS of call of duty. COD tells me im gettin an FPS of 10-40 with the graphics cranked. But it runs VERYYYYYYY Smooth... just like mohaa... so, my point is this. If the graphics are bad ass, and run smoothly who gives a shit about what the fps counter says. BTW, resolution is always set at 1600x1200 |
2. Bummer. I'm stumped...
3. No problemo. Glad it'll work for ya. 4. I'd have to agree with Polemarcus... if the game plays well consistently the excess fps are just icing on the cake. Still though, it's strange you seem to be capped. Maybe mohaa itself has a cap within it's programming that fluctuates depending on how you set the graphic options. |
