i figured this would be a worthy thread for my 1000th post. im from the south side of chicago, whitesox fan all the way. what i have witnessed here is an exact repeat of what the cubs did in '84.

Cubs vs Padres '84

they were up 3 to 1 in the series, they were 5 outs away from winning the pennant with a 3 to 0 lead, with their best pitcher pithing : rick sutcliff. cubs lost the game and lost the series.

Cubs vs Marlins '03

you know, i hate to be all negative here, but i think this is a valid statement. both teams just cant seem to win. its just the way it is. it sucks, but thats how it is. however, i do see the redsox winning one before the cubs. even more so now that the cubs have blown it. cubs fans will just go on bleeding cubbie blue like they always have, cheering with blind faith, for the suckiest , loosingest franchise in all of sports. ill drink to that beer:
