PING question...

New to MOHAA and thought i had everything figured. BUT now im noticing in my games; I can play fer a while and then my PING spikes terribly(999)! I'm on cable modem and have no background programs running. I wouldnt mind if it only occurred for a short time but it persists for long durations and sometimes doesnt get better at all. I try switching game servers and still nothing. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Try typing:

rate 10000

into the console, this uncaps the preset cable speed in MOHAA.

It could also be your provider having troubles. To check this run a tracert. Open the Command (DOS) window and type tracert 000.00.00.000 - replace the 0's with a server IP. This will show you all the hops between you and the server and the ping to each.

Enable the console by opening map room (where you start)

advanced settings

tick the console and hit apply

To open the console just hit your tilde key ~ (left of #1 key and above tab)

Once in console, type

rate 10000

and hit enter

As for the link, open it again and you will notice a bunch of guides in the left hand column.
