MOHAA Breakthrough performance
For anyone else, did the breakthrough demo play REALLY laggy for you too? I played it and it was just about unplayable for me. I play allied assault and spearhead with relative ease but man the breakthrough demo was CRAP! annoy:
Also how is the game when you buy it....performance wise and all...is it worth it? |
The full game runs a LOT smoother than the demo. I don't even know why the released that crappy demo as it probably did nothing but hurt sales.
BT is worth $20 for the multiplayer aspect alone. Single player was a bit buggy (for me anyway). |
hmmm ok maybe i'll pick that up. I got a $15 gift certificate from EA for my birthday (if you want that just register there, pretty good deal!)
I bought COD and after buying realized my video card was out of date!! ARGH mwah: annoy: cuss: fire1: So i'm going to need a new game. |
if you have a $15 EA gift certificate, dont waste it on BT. sngle player ran really laggy for me, especially the opening level with the sandstorm. COD is much more intense and is alot better than BT and runs beautifully on my radeon 8500. i havent seen any lag at all on COD, so i would assume BT has as much bugs as rosie o donnels cooch.

That is the reason for your demo ran so shitty, thanks for that info it played well for me. Thats because i have a GF4 Ti200 128 MB DDR card
and it ran it with no problem. If you have a Vid that cant run this game then its time for an upgrade. So what Vid do u have ? |
the full version runs a lot smoother, i found that when there is a lot going on in the game particularly with the sand storms it jumps a little but thats it.
|
also the default settings are all turned up. turn down texture, and change w/e one of the things is to bileanear.. basically you want everything on low. that should make it run rather smooth

I already bought COD and it isn't compatible with my card. I have a 32MB ATI Rage 128 Ultra card and it can't run COD. I don't feel like paying the money to buy a whole new card and having it put in my comp. So that's why i want to buy breakthrough. Yeah the other MOH games lag a bit when there is a lot of things going on on the screen but single player is usually ok. I had some small problems with spearhead...the multiplayer runs relatively well in Breakthrough right? Now that i bought COd and can't play it i don't want to buy another game and be screwed again. cry: Needless to say, i'm a bit paranoid! oOo: |
I get between 30-90 fps in Spearhead and between 10-30 fps in Breakthrough. It's playable... but barely... sometimes. It runs a lot worse for me than Spearhead ever did. I'd be weary...

Bring down the console with the ` key (just left of 1) and type fps 1. Your fps will show up near the bottom left of your screen. |

get a newer card before anymore games. If you keep that card you will be limited to playing older games. |
ed: oh damn really?
To get a new card...you have to buy it and then have someone put it in for you? Or is it something you can do yourself. and when i say you can do it yourself...that means there are instructions and it is relatively easy to understand the process without messing up my comp. Is it something inserted into the comp or something downloaded? I just fix a big O problemO in my comp a couple months ago and i'm still paranoid. |
It's easy man. 15 minutes or less.
* Uninstall the drivers for your current card * Shut down the PC * Open the case * Remove the screw holding the card in place * Remove the card by pulling it out of the slot in the motherboard * Insert your new card into the same slot * Replace the screw to hold the card in place * Close the case * Turn the PC on * Install the drivers for your new card * Reboot * Adjust the Display Properties as needed Some cards require a connection to the power supply, but that's easy too. Find an unused plug and plug it into your card... if you don't have any unused plugs this is an entirely different problem. |
