i think i figured it out: i never deleted the old drivers
Is it possible you're using GeForce drivers instead of TNT drivers?
on the Nvidia website, http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp, i click graphic driver, then in the second box, i click Geforce and TnT, then my operating system, windows XP, but i think i downloaded the wrong one the first time
ok, i fixed it, i forgot to delete my old driver, so i did, then re-downloaded the new one and it is all good now, thanx for all your guys' help
