Hagar Back In Van Halen?

From the Van Halen News Desk (http://www.vhnd.com/articles/031120-01.shtml):

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
November 20, 2003

It's time to get the rumour mill spinning again, because it doesn't get much bigger than this.

According to Andrew at MelodicRock.com, Van Halen will return in 2004, with Sammy Hagar on lead vocals.

According to the MelodicRock.com report:

- Sammy Hagar is set to return to Van Halen
- A reunion attempt was made with David Lee Roth (after the failed attempts in 1996 and 2000) but it didn't work out
- Nobody knows who called who first
- Hagar has told the members of his solo band he intends to rejoin Van Halen

To add to the speculation, HITS Daily Double reported yesterday in their rumour mill that Van Halen had hired Irving Azoff as their new manager. Azoff is probably best known for managing the Eagles. He also, coincidentally (or not), manages Sammy Hagar.

Please remember that this is all rumour at the moment. However, it's a very strong rumour and once it spreads to the mainstream media it will be very difficult for all parties not to at least offer a comment.

I'd rather have Sammy back in the band than have no band at all.

I agree that Roth-era Halen was better, but I'm still looking forward to more Halen.

I guess being a guitar player, I need to hear more Eddie. I can see where you guys are coming from.

Hey, it can't be any worse than Gary Cherone, no?

Im not sure that todays M&M and Brittney Spears loving kids can handle Van Hallen..........

That's the kinda sound Halen has to recapture...the Hot For Teacher-Beautiful Girls-Unchained stuff. And yes, I realize those were all Roth-era tunes...

They got all serious and it was less than spectacular.

Oh dear god, this is about as good news, as when I heard Poison, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, and Twisted Sister played at Bowery Ballroom in October. happy: I hope it's true.

No doubt about it, but Hagar did have some good songs with the group.

Hopefully this rumor is true.
