No, not to give away to some cheap bastard ...

Anyway, I always back up my CD's in case I trash the orignals.

But, with at least disk one, I haven't been able to get a working copy.

This may also explain the huge time it takes to install the game (at least from the first disc).

Any one else try to back these things up and have success?

Have you tried www.gamecopyworld.com
Thats what this site is all about legal backup copies of the game

CloneCD should work for you or NERO Burning ROM. Nero works for me.

The problem with this game is that it uses safeguard 2 for copy protection. It's easily avoided but I have yet to make a working copy with Clonecd for my backup purposes. Do you think it might have to do with the speeds at which you rip it and write it???

Carphunter 01-24-2002 03:51 AM

I checked out the site that was referenced above, and they said with CloneCD you should start at 1x. Kind of got the impression you can play with your set up until you find the max speed you can do things at.

usually when making CD-ROMS such as MOH, or even a Linux CD or whatever. Usually they will recomment no more than 4X burn speed, however I personally wouldn't go over 1X cuz you can waste 2 hrs sometimes trying to get a CD to work on a faster burnt CD if at all.

Carphunter 01-25-2002 03:24 AM

Well, I've read at 1x and written at 4x...close but no cigar.
Trying to write now at 1x.

Main problem for me is I can't do a DAO write like the instructions gamecopyworld state for using clonecd

KurganQ2 01-25-2002 11:02 AM

isn't this crap going to be in court soon as illegal? It is about to be challenged for the new music cd copy prevention shit.

Do they not read the law where it states you are allowed to make a backup for yourself...YET, you can't with almost all cd copy software???

Hilikus 01-25-2002 11:56 AM

I tried ripping it a 4x then burning at 2x with clonecd and it doesn't work yet. 3 coasters down, and I'm sure a few more to go.

so if i go to gamecopyworld i can burnthe game from there on to a cd or do i need the game to actually burn another copy?

Bazooka_Joe 02-14-2002 02:54 AM

If you goto gamecopyworld.com, you are a loser, cuz you know you aren't doing anything legal. You might as well dload the fucking game and burn that, so don't tell your lies, jackasses.
