Video Card Issue
ok, I just got a new pc about a week to two weeks ago, I have a Radeon 9600SE in it now, my motherboard has AGP 8x. Well, I tried to set my video card to 8x but it keeps resetting back to 4x after my PC boots back up. So I thought it was something in my BIOS I had to change, but my BIOS tells me it's set to 8X, and the video card will not set to 8X.
any idea? |
nobody has an slight idea what may be wrong? could it be settings on my Video Card I need to turn off in order to have this on 8X?
|

ok thanks, ill give it a try.. any one else have an idea? |
Hard to say. Update your drivers, blah, blah, blah.
On a somewhat postive note, with that card, you will not have any significant performance increase by having 8x vs 4x, but it should work assuming you have an 8x mobo. |
ok i fixed the problem.. all i had to do was update my AGP and BIOS on my mobo, but doesnt anyone know what "fast write" is?
|
Not sure, but I do know it has been known to lead to problems if enabled.
Just say no. |
