You know - I actually started to like AA.Net - however, running across the immature behavior of one of its MODERATORS, and the hypocrital nature of most if not ALL of the posters on that forum - pretty much turned me off to what could have been an enjoyable experience.

Not to mention the fact that one-week in and I still haven't received my FORUM-registration papers. Ha. Not that I'd do anything other than critque the behaviors of most of the members on the board anyway.

The final straw for me came during a heated "WAREZ" debate - in which of course every "civic minded" citizen came out to lambast this "horrible, horrible" practice; knowing full well the majority of them have at some point or another engaged in the practice or the scene in some form or another. Whether it be music, videos, or software - we all are guilty of getting free media. And no kidding - its a mods right to ban folks for discussing this, however dont assusme that "high-and-mighty" attitude that its a practice never done by themselves. That was a serious turn-off, and really showed their immaturity (along with the homosexual rip at the mods on AA.COM) as well as those of the members they were condeming (and subsequently banning).

Anyway - thats my rant, posted here cause (checks watch) still no mail from AA.NET. This is a great game - which I'm picking up in full so I can get that anti-cheat patch (in 30 minutes, lunch break) working with no problems.

First of all, as a regular poster over at their message boards I take offence at being bunched in with others as a hypocrite. And the same policies that persist there about warez talk go on here. Nobody is to talk about it. Sorry, but I agree with that. AA.com and AA.net are both sites that want to keep on good terms with EA and 2015, so who can blame them. You want to talk about warez, then go to a board that deals with that. As far as my stance, I never blasted or condemned anyone for it. I have however blasted about the stupidity and/or audacity of people who did or intended to do it and post about it on the main boards.

And I want to say for the record that there are several pretty cool people over there as well so don't go blasting everyone over there. Same as this board...there are cool people and doltz and right now you not aiming for the cool people list...

Did I ever condemn or vindicate those that engage in the practice of "WAREZ"ing? No. Did I ever make mention that speaking it or censoring it was either right ot wrong? No. I did however state that it was a modders right to do so.

As you can see by my post (if you want to reread it again, cause you may have missed something), is the hypocritical nature of a greater majority of the individuals who seek to condemn those who OPENLY ADMIT to practicing this. There is the hypocrisy. That somehow keeping your secrets close to your vest, somehow excuses those that warez in private - and gives you free reign to assume that what YOU do is ok (and by you - I mean universally), and what some over-excited teenager does is a great sin. That was the (obvious I thought) point of my post.

As far as WAREZ being frowned upon on this forum - I've yet to see hard edge approach to silence it.

In any case, I more than stand by my comments - and laugh at being on some "sh*t list". Indeed.
