Can someone explain to me how to get into the playoffs in baseball?
I watch a few games every year, and usually watch the playoffs, but I still don't really know how the playoffs work. I believe that the top three teams from each division (AL and NL) get an automatic buy into the playoffs, right? Then the top four remaining teams from the entire division enter into the wildcard race, and whoever comes out of that basically plays the top team in the division, right? Then the other two teams play, then a divisional final, then the world series? Did I get that right? |
Top team in each division gets in.
In each league (American and National) The team with the best record who is not in top place gets in. Top teams plays wild card, other face each other, winners face each other, then world series. |
