best way to learn shaders is to find every overlay shader you can from the game's original pk3's, then compare them and figure out the parts. If ya really wanna get into advanced effects check the binocular overlays and such. Some nice static effects can be added directly from the shader.

Oh absolutley mate but you can guarentee if you tell someone to do it they more than likely wont lol.
