An alternative to ati and nvidia (kinda)
 

Some company by the name of xgi, seem to be going the 3dfx route of multiple gpu's on a board/

Scored alright but as they described the driverrs need some major work and the cards infastructure itself seems that it will need so tuning up, after that it should beable to compete half decently (although it is doing ok already). Maybe they could fill in for the midrange market / more budget specialty cards.
