Want to buy a new system ? I know just what to recommend...
I built and tested my new Athlon 64 system today and all I can say is WOW.
Specs are: Athlon 64 3000+ Abit KV8-MAX3 1024MB Corsair XMS Maxtor 80GB SATA SB Audigy2 ZS ATI Radeon 9800 Pro ... and the standard stuff. Windows boots in less than 10 seconds, everything flies ... really impressive. I highly recommend a system like this if you intend on doing a lot of gaming. |
Price?

meh i sacrificed top specs for mobility. i wanttt a deskkktoppppp
|
Price was 1600$CA which comes to 1160.00$US.
I fucking OWN. FarCry runs smooth as silk on Very High at 1024x768: I'll benchmark a little more and let you know how it goes. but so far it's crazy! |
I'd like to buy a new system...help me build one....a cheap one... happy:
|
I would have gotten a hercules Sound card and upgraded my HD to a SATA HD like one of the 120 gigs from WD liek the Cavier etc, Sound Blasters are a waste. Would have meant a faster HD and more space. While sound quality would be impossible to notice.

Abit NF7-S - $85 512MB Buffalo Tech PC3200 - $92 Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB - $200 Leaves you with just enough for a new case/psu if you need it. |
i hate those fancy cases...and i think im gonna keep my old card too....GeForce fx5200...so, yeah...the cheaper the better rock:
|
If you going to keep your video card then you can spring for more RAM and/or a faster CPU.
