im sure treating people this way does wonder for exalt. NO ONE is going to want to show "work" if they fear this kind of treatment.

I tend to agree with Judas here. There're some highly inflated egos around these parts who have absolutely no right to be that way. There are only a select few people I've seen here who can approach a high level of artistic skill, and it seems that those few people are cool enough not to resort to childish flaming.

Take yourself down a peg or two.

As for Jason's question, the "rips" I did for the FvJ poster, it's made with a few layers and some inner shadowing. It's not complicated, but it's hard to explain.

Try looking for photoshop tutorials on Google and keep an eye out for any ones that describe techniques for cracks, cracked metal, or things like that.

I totally agree with you Judas. Though, someone who takes a picture and makes something good out of it gets a lot more respect from me than someone who cuts out a pic and puts their name it. I realize that most all of us "rip" so to speak. It's very hard not to these days. But you have a very valid point.

1. If we could al scribble charcoal like you im sure that would make us something now wouldn't it ?

2. MOst of the pictures I use (mainly my large peices) all have photo email permission for use. (personal non commercial etc etc

3. If you consider your scribbles on paper "your art" then consider my brush scribble" art as well. Its creative media which is much more valueble in todays mainstream media then your "artistic sketches". Hell their is a good chance this photoshop chopping you call it" Will be making me a living in the next little while, (Friend of mine was accepted to Seneca @ York with lower grades then me").

4. "MEDIA ARTS" this is media arts. key term here in that title my good man "Arts". (Hell even call it digital art.

5. I try to never flame noobs. I always try to keep my comments when it comes to the art more constructive and critical to the thread. Most of the guyz here usually never really are huge asses but have a grudge against jASON FOR THE MISTAKE HE MADE. Pasions are flaring and you jumping in to get your 2 cents out becasue your" mad is not going to help anything much.

6. Zoner your sadi this stuff befroe in a thread way back and what you got back was pages of flames your way for it. I would have thought you would have realized this is "fire and backed out". The only "ego I see here Zone is the one coming from Judas and how he can move a pencil and make deformed artistic faces.

7. eXalt most the guyz their are more civil then they are here. They just tend to be a bit more loose here. "this is aa.com, fuck can't some of us steam some off here instead of being asses over at the community which isn't really built to take any of this ?.

im not doubting your artistic ability, and i ve never said anything to the like. You dont like what i do , i dont like what you do, but without a reason i would never come out and tell you to go fuck yourself, or that "you lack skill". Its fucking juvenile at best. And believe it or not, your actions here DO reflect on what you do at exalt. To me they do anyway.

What do you think the basis is for the work you re doing? And how could an education in the fine arts better that work? Think on that my fiend. As as i recall, some fine art pieces sell for MILLIONS of dollars, they are talked about for YEARS upon YEARS, and TONS of literature is written discussing the works and the artists. So, to assume that the digital arts is in ANY WAY comparable, or even more profitable, is incorrect. How many digital artists can you mention by name right now? Id say less than a handful, if any at all.

Being good at something and having confidence in what you do go hand it hand, whether you suck , or you are as good as you think. Either way, ill continue to ego trip, because it will help me become better at what i do. But i would NEVER , UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES (like you , or dislike you), turn someone away who was asking for help.
