Need Spearhead help: Battle of the Bulge, Christmas Morning
 

It's been a while since I've posted, but hopefully someone can help me.

You know the level where you have to get a medic to save the captain and then defend the right/left/right fronts? Well, I did all of that. Now, I'm up to the part where you have to follow the captain up the middle on the battlefield.

I see that you have to take out the tank with the bazooka on the right side.

I can't pass this level! When I start out out the level, I automatically lose 40 points of health and I've barely started running after the captain has thrown the green smoke screen.

How do I get by? What I've been doing is hiding in the ditch to the right of that weird rock/hut thing on the left side of the screen. I duck down in the ditch and stand up trying to take out the panzer tank on the right. I knock out that tank and I try to advance, but the second I jump out of the ditch, I'm dead. I can't even see what's ahead of me that's killing me.

If you guys could help, I would appreciate it. Spearhead has only 1 walkthrough on gamefaqs and it's not very detailed on this level. Or if anybody can point me to another walkthrough, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Look for 100 health packs. There's one somewhere near the hut. Holster your weapon, and act as if it were Omaha Beach. You WILL take a lot of health damage. It's a try-and-miss situation, so you can just load and load again until you get it correct.

Yes, I put away my weapon when I'm running around.

What I've been doing is I holster my weapon, the captain throws the green smoke screen. I follow the captain and I run to the ditch to the right of the stone/hut thing. From there, I aim at the tank on the right side of the screen. I take out the bazooka, stand up, shoot, crouch and reload. I do this until the tank has exploded.

From this point, I usually have low health (I'm getting hit from all directions, including behind me and I have no idea where it's coming from). I think the other tank is on the left side of the screen, but I'm not alive to see it.

The Omaha beach was easier than this level. At least you know where the bullets/bombs are coming from and you can see out. In this Christmas Morning level, it's coming from all directions and I don't know what's killing me, a tank, a 88, a MG 42. Even when I'm crouching in one of the ditches, I'm still taking damage.

Even if I try to look for med packs on the field, I die looking for it or I get it and then I get shot, negating what I went through to get there.

I have no idea what to do. I haven't been this frustrated since Sniper's Last Stand.

Sorry, I remember playing the level VERY vaguely. (sp?) I don't know what I did, but I think I just ran straight to the house, tring to dodge the MG42.

How on earth did you do that? I tried just running straight, but I died almost instantaneously.

As i remember it, i ran like a maniac for the hut, but not in a straight line.
Try and take cover in a hole for a sec, then fast up again before the artillery hits it again.

What did you do once you got to the hut? The hut is the thing near the beginning, right on the left side of the screen? If it is, how did you get the tanks and then get to the small town?

Keep to the right. Youll eventually get into a shed or something, where you are supposed to take out some people, then clear a church.

Ok, I remember this part quite well.

First, holster (sp?) your weapon (Q)

As the captain begins to throw the smoke grenade, run ahead of him up the small hill and take cover in the nearest crater. This should provide fairly good cover from the artillary. Then, do some crater hopping from crater to crater. Like said before, you will lose health on this part.

After you finish hopping a few craters, you should notice up ahead in the middle a tank (There's one to the right as well, don't bother with that one though, one of your allies take care of it I believe). Rip out your bazooka/panzerschreck and pop up, aim for the turret and shoot. It will probably take a couple of hits (2 at the most I think) before it explodes.

After that, peer out of your crater and shoot any enemies in sight, so they won't harass you later. Run forward until you walk past the boundaries of the first building. The artillary won't hit you any more, so just continue forward, firing as you go if you need to, until you get your next objective.
