Can't get my mic to work
 

Yeah, I just got a new pc and I cannot get teh damn mic to work. I've tried everything, new drivers, different plug-ins. Nothing works. Can someone pleasse help? THanks.

double click "volume control" in the system tray
options > properties
click "recording" then "OK"

now you have the recording volume settings
make sure the microphone is selected and the volume is up full

also, make sure you plugged your mic in the right hole

...right. sound card is an audigy 2 zs. mic is made by plantronics.

its a brand new pc. why the hell would i format......

cause u r teh 1337 !!!111oneone and u need to format...or maybe u didnt sent u card in right on ur mother board or maybe ur mic isnt compatable dance: spank:

usb mic? or is it a direct one

well this is what i am doing. i have a mic headset with 2 prongs (1 mic connection, and 1 speaker connection). i dont want to use my headphones on the headset, i want to use my headphones that are a lot better. i have my mic plugged into the mic port, and my headphones plugged into their ports. now, my headphones are 5.1 headphones and are plugged into the center, left, and right ports for surround sound.
