This is Irritating..

I have followed 3 different tutorials on making a simple modification to a weapon skin on moh. 2 from this site.. I edit the tga's and save them into the right directories.. Zip it up and give it a pk3 extension.. tried both the "user-" and "zzzzz" before the file name.. moh will just not load it!! I even downloaded an already made grenade skin mod and replaced the tga with mine and it works for some reason and my pk3 file is exactly the same.. what is the problem.. It has to be either the names im giving the files or the way I made the pk3 because I have all the directories right inside the pk3. mad: Someone help me!

It's been awhile since i did any work on skins but your missing a WHOLE lot.

If the file i downloaded is what your putting in your main that there is totally wrong.

use pakscape to make the file a pk3
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/zagz/pakscape.zip

I'm not sure the folder path you have in that .zip is right either. I'm sure when Scorpion replies he'll be able to help you much more.

Download a skin for the Axis nades and tear it apart seeing how it was made and set up. That helped me out alot.

good luck

LordSaxon2 07-11-2004 11:12 PM

Conscript are you saying it works perfectly on your system?

(Wow 300 fps.... what video card do you have it must be a beast of a card)

Scorpion -]M15F1T[- 07-11-2004 11:32 PM

Yup it works fine. For making pk3's tho i use winzip its a lot easier 4 me.
Just a question tho you do have texture comp switched off dont you? Cos that would make you not see it as you dont have a dds file as well.

LordSaxon2 07-12-2004 12:02 AM

Well it still doesn't work for me.. and I have texture compression on.. and what is a dds file?

Oh thank the good Lord!!!! your a saint... rock: it works after i turned off texture compression.. but now I realize how crappy textures look in moh lol

Edit: scratch that it's just my ugly grenade

Scorpion -]M15F1T[- 07-12-2004 09:08 AM

dds files are the files for texture compression. edit those and put that in a pk3 and to work u will need texture compression on.

Ok now I have a new question and I don't want to start a new thread so.. Where are the files containing the amount of ammo, damage of bullets, etc of the weapons? I want to mod the guns for my server..

Buggy 07-13-2004 06:11 PM

look in one of your pk3's its bound to be in one gl. freak:

LordSaxon2 07-13-2004 06:22 PM

I have looked in every one.. there are too many subfolders and im not familiar with the file name or extension of it.

Edit: I just looked through all of the files again.. it could only be in pak0.pk3 and I can't find it! wallbash:

MaStAbLaStA 07-13-2004 06:51 PM

lord don't get frustrated take your time...by the time you've modded for a while you'll be able to go through the packs in your sleep.
