the best speach any president has ever given was the one Bush said at the WTC site.

"I can hear you the rest of the world hears you, and the people who knocked these building down will hear all of us soon."

i agree, that will probably be remembered for ever

i remember that day in school, i live 30 minutes away from NYC, so a lot of my friend's parents worked around or in the WTC. my best friend's mom was supposed to be on the floor where the towers hit, but she was late dropping him off at school, odd coincidence. a lot of my friends were called down to make sure their parents were safe, most were, but there was this kid in the highschool who lost both his parents. its a real tragedy. Cranford (the town i live in) lost 5 people. we now have a 5 column memorial in the center of town dedicated to them.

i just wish everyone held on to the patriotism for a little bit longer...

Meh "patrioism" equalling everyone rushing out to buy american flags, and as has been documented people trying to get the biggest flag they can just to outdo others, i don;t call that patriotism, i call that hopping on the bandwagon.

Jotun 07-17-2004 10:13 PM

i dont consider myself patriotic, but i am proud to be an american. i hate our government and president, but im still happy to live here.

I mean more about our country. Too many people are thinking close-minded right now in their little hole only thinking about themselves and how they'll benefit. Everyone seemed like one after 9/11...it was weird (maybe you have to be an american to experience it, i don't know). I just think bashing and making wise cracks at the president isn't doing us any good--no matter who it is (Dem or Rep). My friend over in Iraq right now writes to me every so often, and he says all this domestic bickering is putting a tole on alot of his buds over there.

What would a man do to make sure he said something that would make him go down in history.....

[sarcasm]evidently kill a bunch of his own people indirectly and then send more people off to their death like the devil himself[/sarcasm]
