HAHA look at the doom 3 recommendation for a system!

http://anandtech.com/guides/showdoc.aspx?i=2156&p=5

they reccommend you buy 4000 dollars on something for a 55 dollar game?

not to shabby but they also have a midranged and lower ranged for doom3

Yes, I also thought those specifications ridiculous, and made my feelings quite
clear about it at a well known computer outlet (name withheld) in my area.

Anyway, the person handling my complaint ends up being this stuck-up, kinda
hot looking young bitch with this school ma'am thing going on...you know the
type...glasses on, buttons all done up, hair not falling all free and that.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I give her a good, hard shag...make no mistake.

It actually runs surprisingly well on lower-end systems.

The soundcard, speakers, monitor, DVD/CD-RW and HD on that list are completely unecessary.

They're very CLEAR on the fact that it's expensive. They also explain WHY
anyone would consider purchasing it:

Keep in mind that you still need to purchase a keyboard, mouse, Operating System, and of course, Doom 3.

No, but you need a cd drive: if you're going to get such an excellent system,
you may as well acquire the DVD/CDRW drive that goes with it. Any questions?

i wouldnt get all that stuff even if I did my pc will be obsolete

fujimi7su 08-09-2004 06:19 PM

your better off getting a good 700-800ish dollar gaming pc and keeping it at med-high end specs by upgrading constantly.... than spending 4k and hanging onto it until it is useless... like i would have to do if spent that much $$$$
