Not sure if everyone read through the manual, but it mentions to disable any background programs - ie AntiVirus.

I've tried this after a server got laggy and generally was acting up. After which I didn't seem to have any problems with 'lag'. However, I still got the freeze after about 2 or 3 hours on a server.

Just a thought, may solve some of yer problems.
