Few things: I have a 56k. Yes, I know, i'm gonna get flamed. I'm only 15 and my dad is too cheap to dish out the cash for DSL... However, my ping is always lowetr then EVERYONES. I mean, I can see who has FASt cable and dsl, and then the people who have 56k (usuaully 450-650 ping). I usually have a 700 to 999 ping though! WHY?

Also, I usually crash 15-20 mins into game multiplayer. Why? It just locks up and I can't alt tab or alt-control-delete! Ughhh

whatcha got for a system???.... the modem isn't the root to your entire problem...
do you have everything in the game set on the highest??..

do you have a fast computer??... RAM?... Graphics card???

Sorry but the reason u get those frames and shit is becasue ur pc sucks (sorry). And tnt2 is a bad card!

as for the ping problem, go to www.cablenut.com or dslreports.com and see if you can find any tweaks for your 56K. And always join games with the lowest ping available

you should get a job to help finance the purchase of a DSL line and a new computer, Perhaps if you do you might find your dad would be more willing to get these things.

As stated earlier, the problem may not lie soley within your connection. It may be due to your low end system. Contrary to this, I know many people who can run MOH:AA on worse systems than yours with realitive ease. So, in essence, a good chunk of your problem is caused by your connection (or lack there of :P) Two sites were posted above which you should check out, and another great one that he neglected to mention is:

This provides many tweaks to allow for a slighty faster connection. But, sadly, most of these tweaks that we speak of do not make a signifcant difference to your ping. (If any.)

As for the reason why your system is crashing every 15-20 minutes, I can only come up with only one possible hypothesis. Most servers run on a map rotation, and I know from personal experience, that even with my cable, sometimes when the server switches maps there is a long period in between. Probably caused by paket loss, or the like. And with your 56k, these gaps may be longer. Maybe you system didn't crash per-say, maybe you just have to wait it all.

That's the price you pay for 56k.

Maybe you should just kick your dad in the nuts and tell him to get a DSL connection.
