hard drive mp3 players

I cant sleep and im trying to avoid reading my lang/comp homework.

so ive decided i want a hard drive mp3 player, as my Sony DNE710 mp3 cd player which i loved is "lost" ... along w/ my sony lightweight headphones.....

Ive always loved sony's portable audio products, their CD players and radios are great, and their headphones are some of the best ive heard.. especially for their price range.....

So naturally, the first thing i looked at was Sony's new.. and heavily advertised 20gb mp3 player.... too expensive for so little storage... im gonna need as much as i can get (53gb of music currently)

Next, i looked at the iRiver series of hard drive mp3 players... they seemed like a great option, but again, theyre fairly pricey.

Ive used IPODs and i just cant stand them... sorry

After lots of looking i found myself leaning towards the creative Zen 60gb
[url:8776d]http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=55-102-123&depa=0[/url:8776d]
Ive used this player a little, and it seems fine... The price is great, especially for the 60gb you get (which is what i really want). There are a few things people seem to have problems with though (headphone jack malfunctions, case cover popping off) I really dont care about the case popping off, ill just put it back on... and if push comes to shove i wont hesitate to use tape.... The headphone jack problem seems to be very very common, usually after a few months one or both of the channels will stop working... due to a weak connection inside the player, ive found numerous guides on how to repair this if it happens, but if i do end up buying this player... probably the first thing i will do is pop the sucker open and smother the connections in hot glue, just to be sure. And just to be 1337 ill probably not even bother with the included software, ill just grab some better stuff off the net :D

Right now, the Zen looks like the best option, and when i get the $$$$ together ill probably order it from NewEgg

i know a few of you guys have Zen's, whatcha think?

also, if you have any other players i should consider or comments about these... feel free to share.

thanks in advance, ill probably check this post during Computer Apps *snore*

i need sleep, i have to be at school in 4 hrs .... and im not even tired

i <3 my iPod soooo much, best present i ever got. but i scratched the screen pretty bad today, im so upset...they should make it scratch proof....
anywho, its amazing. iRiver is over-rated. my best friend has one, and its bigger than it looks online. ipod is small and easy to use. i'd highly recommend it. iTunes is a nifty program as well. i use it over winamp now.

iRiver is only very slightly larger than the newer iPods, and you know why? Its all in the battery. iPod has a shitty type which is smaller, but is looses its capacity over time. iRiver has a newer type which doesnt loose its capacity, but in turn is slightly larger.
My friend who has an iPod is trying to sell it to get an iRiver now. For the average joe, an iPod might do, but for a perfromance user, iRiver is leaps and bounds ahead of it. N
I've never used that Zen before but it looks decent, atleast it has wma support, and its a pretty good price for 60gig.

stfu.

your just trying to make yourself feel good as you are regretting not getting the ipod same like all the people that get the #2nd place mp3 players, #1 being ipod....the truth. but if you want to carry a big brick around made by some lamers who make 2nd grade speakers, that weigh more than a laptop...then youve made the right choice of these #2 place players.

my ipod is nearly 18 months old, and absolutely no problem with battery and owns all.

i store some porn on it sometimes aswell. so i win.

I've had my 6GB Nomad Jukebox for about 2 years now and I'm still rockin' it. Great stuff.

Highly recommend the Zen. iPod looks too feminine...heh.

wow do some people get touchy, its just mp3 players... christ
If you disagree, fine, as long as you are happy thats all that matters right?
Why do you care so much that somebody doesnt feel the iPod is the best out there?
