while i am playing in a multiplayer game, whenever i go in an outdoor area of a map i get laggy, but when im indoors im fine. for example, on omaha i get out of the boat and everything is all laggy, then i get into the trenches and im fine. is there something i can do to help this?

The 'lag' you are refering to is caused by your low frame rate. Either you have a low end system, or your graphic settings are set to the max. Adjust them as you see fit.
In open areas(i.e ouside), the r_speeds get high, which increases your frames per second (fps). If you type 'fps 1' in console, you'll see as you lag, the number drops. |
This may not be regular lag, as in network latency. It may lag within your own machie - could be your graphics memory or RAM is having problems with the outdoor environments.

First try adjusting your video/advanced settings. If you are unsure on how to adjust things to suit your needs, there is a 'tweaking' guide which can be found here: http://www.alliedassault.com/community/guides/manny/ And 'how easy' a video card is to install depends on you. If you have experience installing hardware to your computer, a video card should pose no real problem. If you're looking into buying a new one, I suggest looking here for some great prices: http://www.pricewatch.com |
