im gonna start a big movie collection of classic scifi movies, but i don't know how to choose the best. and when i say classic, i mean black and white. but the only exception to teh black and white thing is alliens quadrilogy

You'll find a lot of those in the Myster Science Theater 3000 DVD. Some of those aren't black and white but they are classics that can't be ignored.
