make a new layer, then in the other frames make it invisible. the eye

The way I do it is make a layer for each "change" in PS, then simply turn them on and off in image ready as I go through the animation.

In this I simply moved a pre-made layer in each frame.

Exactly. I did the fade in this one by messing with various opacities.

I make each frame a jpg in ps, then go into imageready, and do import>folder as frames.

use the conversion button to switch between PS and IR. it is on your tool bar/ palette thingy. Notice any layers you do in PS via this method automatically go to IR with the method. like instant transfer. Less tedious then asen suggested.
