what's the best sky texture....
 
....for a dark/night map that doesn't have an ocean look and doesn't force you to put up a bunch of textured brushes along the edge of your map to hide the edge ?

i've got skyscrapers you can climb thing is, when you're on the top you can see past the edge of the map and the ocean sky textures don't go with the map theme at all.

i've heard of that tool that allows you to create 360 textures for sky boxes (just can't remember the name) anyone use it yet , that might be an option for me.

you can use afnight of mohnight or mohnightfog(thats the best)

in the scripts pk3 (sky scripts) i only see scripts for
  • africa night
    m512
    mohday1
    mohday2
    norwaydawn
    allgrey
    allwhite
    d-day2
    lighthouse
    mohnightfog

but when i open sky textures in radiant i only see the following textures
  • d-day2
    lighthouse
    m512
    mohday
    mohday2
    mohnight
    norwaydawn

but there is one that looks like mohaa night/bobcage night that doesn't have a name that's at the top, is this mohnightfog ? <----edit: if it is, it's got that "ocean" horizon look also

i kinda liked the look of the mohdusk1 but don't see a script for it (i'm guessing i could use norway dawn's script and replace norwaydawn with mohdawn1.tga. starfield looks good (looks like it doesn't have a horizon which i could work with) but again, no scripts.

I think you mean terragen bud. but any raytracing prog (povray for example) will be cool. I got some great results. Also if you have the PA demo why not use one of the lovely skies in there.

nope, don't have PA (after SH i've felt burnt by EA games and the mohaa line)
