changing ip with router
so whats the easiest way to change your ip on a router other than calling up a your provider? i could change it before without a router but now that i got one i dont know how.

unplug your modem for like 5 minutes then plug it back in.

Change the last letter or number of its mac address. Make sure you copy down your old one first, just in case.

if you're behind a router you have an internal ip addressing scheme. you can log into your router via a web browser by typing in the ROUTER's IP in the address bar. you should have a login and password for it (this is if you have a basic home router like linksys). you can change the internal addresses and all that good stuff.
if you have a cisco router, which you definitely dont, you can console in with hyper terminal and configure. show memory |

The MAC address is NOT modifiable. What you see is perhaps a virtual modification...

Mine works when i just turn off and on..
