I can remember watching the news coverage in 1980(?) when Helen blew her top.

That was some crazy shit for a 7 year old to see. I thought the world was gonna end. oOo:

The Earth used to be a world covered in volcanoes and molten lava 4.5 billion years ago. I think mother nature just wants to get back to her roots. Let the lava flow!

I watch too much PBS/Discovery channel.

yeah yellow stone is a giant volcano. last time it blew i think most of north america was wiped out. All of canada was covered in ash. killed every living thing. Mt. Rainere is going to suck when that goes. We can say good bye to seatle.

I know what its like to live in fear of volcanic eruption.

There's over 50 volcanoes in Auckland....

[quote:0b853]Within a radius of about 20km centred on Auckland city there are 49 discrete volcanoes; this is the area referred to as the Auckland volcanic field.[/quote:0b853]

I live in Mt Albert, which is on the left hand side, halfway down. As you can see - It's a pretty volcanic area.
