There is also a free utility called the Detonator Destroyer at Guru. It will help you achieve your uninstall/install.

Coax, I usually try the beats when they are leasked via guru3d and other sites, and have NEVER had to set to VGA to update to new Det.
NVIDIA puts that step in their FAQ, and readme's to play the CYA game |
* Uninstall the drivers from the Add/Remove Section of Control Panel
* Run this program Det Destroyer * Click on Uninstall * Click on either Restart to restart windows or close to shut the program. You will need to restart shortly * When the machine has restarted, Install the display adapter as "Standard VGA" * Restart when prompted * Install the new display drivers * Restart again ------------------ http://texcorac.homestead.com/files/1Lt.jpg |
RTFM.. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/wink.gif
You need to unzip the files to a dir. then install the PCI SVGA driver. Reboot. Then install the new Det drivers by using have disk & finding the dir you unzipped to.. That's pretty much what it'll tell you in the readme file. |
open device manager (properties under my computer) choose display adapter, choose update driver, select location manually(dont let it search for the driver) point it at the unzipped folder containing the driver's files. that should do it, (thats what I did)
and I can't tell any difference from the old driver http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif Coax, the file I dl'd didnt have a readme file http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif [This message has been edited by TrenD*KilleR (edited February 02, 2002).] |
Dude, with all the det's I've installed in the past you HAVE to install the regular svga driver first.. before you install the new detonator..
